The global OEM market for regional and suburban multiple units is one of the largest and most dynamic product segments in the railway sector.
With a current size of more than EUR 9 billion and an annual growth rate of around 9 percent, the global OEM market for regional and suburban multiple units is one of the largest and most dynamic product segments in the railway sector. Increasing market diversification is reflected by the wealth of vehicle subtypes, including the growing number of hybrid multiple units. These are intended to replace ageing diesel multiple units in the future, though not in the short term. These are just some of the many findings of the new multi-client study “Multiple Units – Global Market Trends”, recently published by the strategic consultancy firm SCI Verkehr GmbH.
